When it comes to ramen, I have my well-established favorites. But curiosity brings me to Ramen Spott for lunch on a cold and dreary Sunday for the convenient location and decent price.
The Spicy Miso Ramen is a go-to choice. The spice is present but very manageable, but the broth itself is a bit watered down in comparison to the thick, fatty broths of favorites like Yamadaya, Jidaiya, and Umenoya. The chashu is quite dry and has a charred aftertaste that I don't enjoy. The soft-boiled egg is perfect, and the noodles are a fine texture, and there are plenty of other add-ons if you want additional toppings, but too many will drive up the price.
Not the worst spot to be in if you're craving affordable ramen for lunch...and your favorite places are closed.
