Think of grandma’s house, which looks like all the other houses on the street, with all the different-colored walls, random prints of fruit and nature, etc. Except grandma has a bar in her living room, which serves up pumpkin martinis. Two kinds, to be exact - one made with apple juice for the kiddies and one with cream for the grown-ups. I like the cream one best, but try both – you can’t really go wrong.
The food is exactly what the décor suggests – American home cooking with a twist here and there. I got the steak frites, which were solid, they didn’t skimp on the lobster in the lobster mac n cheese, and the entrée portions are huge so you can’t possibly leave hungry.
We had a huge group there for a b-day party, and the staff really rolled with the punches. The server added up everyone’s checks by hand and allowed us all to pay separately – props! They were totally cool with us bringing our own birthday desserts and even provided take-home boxes for extra cupcakes. Overall, solid comfort food with great service. I’d definitely come here again.
