First Friday - Venice - The Pudding Truck

The churros with ice cream truck had a half-mile line so I "settled" for some pudding. The Vanilla Bean is more like a rich, creamy, eggy custard, and that IPA chocolate sauce is a winner with soft brownie bites. I got the party size and it stays great for days!

First Friday - Venice - Seoul Sausage Truck

I skipped ramen. On Sawtelle. For this place. No regrets. And the food truck is AWESOME.

Finally got to try the Galbi Poutine. And it is EVERYTHING. Slow-cooked short rib melts into the fries, and they absorb every little bit of cheese and meat-juice. Avocado lime crema pulls it all together for drippy, goopy, fork-fulls. You won't stop shoveling until the whole thing is gone.

What's a sausage without a Flaming Ball on the side? The Korean take on arancini is filled with kimchi fried rice dotted with spicy pork. Dip it in the spicy mayo on the side, and it will rock you to the depths of your Seoul.

First Friday - Venice - Roll'n Lobster Truck

I strongly advise against catching your seafood...as if falls off the back of a truck. But if it falls off the side of a food truck...well...roll the dice.

Rolln' Lobster turned out to be a pretty good gamble actually. The Crab Cakes are more crab and way less breading than expected. A bit too heavy on the oil, but deep fried snow crab gets very few complaints.

The Lobster Sliders were stuffed to bursting with a considerable amount of cold, fresh chunks of lobster. On Hawaiian sweet rolls. Genius.

Thumbs up again!

First Friday - Venice - Okamoto Kitchen Truck

My first First Friday and I didn't see a single piece.

Probably because I was too busy with the pieces of Okamoto style J.F.C. Crispy fried chicken in a glaze with a a kick, sprinkled with sesame seeds, topped with green onion.

The Pork Chashu Sandwich is a lot harder to pick up. That rice bun soaks up all the mayo and cradles the softly braised belly while the pickled ginger adds some spice to the mix.
