It's tradition now. Every trip to Reno has a drive to Adele's added on, though this time the fare is lighter than our usual feeding frenzy free-for-alls.
A lighter brunchy-lunch is the goal, and the Gravlax is a special kind of start. Cured salmon roll-ups are glorious on toast points, and for this morning tradition, all signs point to YES.
Brunch is incomplete without some iteration of Eggs Benedict if you're my husband. The Adele's version comes in variations, and the version house-made biscuits and flawless, creamy hollandaise is winning.
If you're a sucker for seafood, join the Seattle Club. A rarely-seared, ahi filet is ooey-gooey with a mayo-heavy dungeness crab and shrimp salad, offset by some simple avocado and crisp baby greens.
There's still room to split an Ice Cream Slider at the end of all of this. Sea salt seasons exquisitely in a simple chocolate chip cookie, and a vanilla sandwich with caramel stripes doesn't taste so vanilla.
I prefer the decadent dinners, but it's always a pleasure to dine at Adele's. The specials menu is like a novelty item you always have to have, and this place is starting to feel like an old friend. So long again, Adele's, see you next time, and don't ever change.
