If there were an Ikea for seafood, Quality Seafood would be it. Aisles upon aisles of affordably-priced shellfish and fish with scales await. Although it's hardly high-end, there's something for everyone, and if you just need some seafood to hit the spot, this no-frills seaside staple will not disappoint.
The Blue Crab comes in dirt-cheap bags. Seven sweet little Maryland munchies for $10. They tend to be hit-or-miss though, and I got them when the season wasn't quite right.
The September Lobster Deal was unbeatable. $20 for a steaming red lobster; soft baked potato; and cold, sweet watermelon becomes $22 if you want to wash it down with a beer. Too good to have just once... Good thing I went three times.
One lobster should be enough, but it's hard to resist when so many other shells sit in a line waiting to be shucked. The Green Lip Mussels are slightly sandy but fleshy and fresh.
I wasn't expecting much from a seafood market that steams, but the quality has been so-far-so-good, and having live seafood cooked to order is a deal you can't resist.
