The sandwiches are always a good option for those sprinting between surgeries. Just scarf it down while you walk or slice it half with your (sterile) scalpel to share. The Bulgogi Beef is decent, and the Korean BBQ chicken/tofu tastes too much like teriyaki. Just make sure you to specify if you’re vegetarian – I asked for tofu and got a mix.
The Fresh Rolls are freshly overpriced, but the Crispy Rolls make a well-fried midday snack.
The Viet Curry is yummy-sweet and filling, and the Lemongrass Curry carries a kick. Get one on your way back to lecture or just nibble on it throughout the day – it’s just as good when it gets cold. Just check your curry carefully – last time I asked for tofu I got chicken. And I ate every last bite anyway.
Food that floats (on wheels) is clearly dining’s latest frontier. Food truck festivals are falling into fashion, and drive-away dining has replaced many a stationary Chinatown establishment on club nights when cabs are scarce. But food trucks, however appealing, should be approached with caution – there’s a reason sketchy borderline criminals joke about catching something as it falls out of the back of a truck. But there’s a reason the line for Momogoose always wraps around the back of the truck (and around the block) so I say catch whatever they have to throw at you.
